Directorate of Secondary Education (DSE), Assam has released two employment notifications for the recruitment of 8230 Graduate Teacher (Arts, Science, Hindi and Sanskrit) Vacancy in different Government and Provincialized Secondary Schools under the Secondary Education Department, Govt. of Assam.

Pay Scale: Rs.14,000 – Rs.70,500 including Grade Pay of Rs.8,700 per month and other allowances as admissible under the rules.

Eligibility Criteria of Assam High School Teacher Recruitment
Nationality: Candidates must be a Permanent Resident of Assam. Employment Exchange Registration: The name of the candidate must be registered in an Employment Exchange.
Age Limit: Candidates age should not be less than 18 years and not more than 40 years as on 01.01.2023.
Age Relaxation: The upper age relaxation will be as follows-
# OBC/MOBC: 3 Years
# ST/SC: 5 Years
# Ex-Servicemen: 2 Years
# PwD: 10 Years
Educational Qualifications for GSPESC Vidhya Sahayak Recruitment 2024
1. Graduate Teacher (Arts & Science)
Arts Teacher: Must have a Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Arts or Commerce with at least 50% marks in either. A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree from an NCTE-recognized institution is required.
Science Teacher: Must hold a Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Science with at least 50% marks in either. A B.Ed. degree from an NCTE-recognized institution is also required.
2. Graduate Teacher (Hindi)
Requires a degree in Hindi (Pravin or Ratna) with 50% marks, along with a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50%, or a BA with Hindi as a major subject with 50% marks. Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Arts with Hindi as a subject and at least 50% is accepted. A B.Ed. degree or its equivalent (such as Parangat) from a recognized university is required.
3. Graduate Teacher (Sanskrit)
Candidates must have a Shastri degree with 50% marks or a Bachelor’s degree with Sanskrit as a major subject with 50% marks. Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Arts with Sanskrit and at least 50% is accepted. A B.Ed. degree from a recognized institution is mandatory.
4. Off-campus Degree: As per the Assam Secondary Education (Provincialized Schools) (Amendment) Service Rules, 2021, those institutions having territorial jurisdiction outside the State of Assam but having a study Centre in the State and such study centers if not recognized by DEC under UGC, the degrees / certificates issued by such off-campus institutions shall not be considered as valid for the purpose of employment under Education Department. However, degrees / diplomas conferred by KKHSOU, IGNOU, IDOL under Gauhati University and Distance Education under Dibrugarh University shall be considered as valid for the purpose of employment.
Medium of Instruction Requirements
Assamese Medium: HSLC or equivalent with Assamese or Diploma from Axom Sahitya Sabha.
Bengali Medium: HSLC or equivalent with Bengali or Diploma from Barak Upatyaka Bangya Sahitya O Sanskriti Sammelan.
Hindi Medium: HSLC or equivalent with Hindi.
Bodo Medium: HSLC or equivalent with Bodo.
English Medium: HSLC or equivalent with Alternative English, or study from Class XI onwards in an English-medium school.
These criteria ensure that candidates have the relevant educational background and language proficiency for the medium in which they will teach.
